Artist's Comments

Taken by holding a Canon S45 digital camera up to the eyepiece (25 mm) of an Orion SkyQuest XT8 telescope (8" reflector).

I was unable to get a consistently sharp image, but the picture turned out better than I expected.

Great shot of the moon
well done

What speed film where you using? It might help to play around with a slower rated film and a lobger shutter time or a higher one and drop the shutter time, sometimes that can make a big difference with clarity. Also maybe tripod it to the eyepiece to eliminate any blur from shaky hands. Good luck with future endevors :)

Thanks for the comments and advice on my picture of the moon.

I was using a digital camera and can't remember the specific setting I used for this picture. I took the picture the day I got the camera so I was experimenting with the settings. I'll definitely be trying some more and will give the tripod a shot. Thanks again.

damn man this is awsome.

Damn nice shot... I want a telescope more than anything right now, you quite lucky. In addition to a tripod holding the camera you might want to try one of those cord type extensions for the shutter button, reduces the amount of vibration the camera gets ( I didn't know, but even your hearbeat can effect a shot).... Well anyway, thanks for the wonderful view. Can't wait to see more!
